If you have recently moved into a property, or have just built a new home, one of the things that you will need to sort out is your digital television system. Although there may seem like endless options out there for watching TV, we are slowly moving into the future where old systems are out, and newer viewing systems are in. Between 2011 and 2013, analogue systems will slowly be switched off, meaning that there are only three options for viewing television. In this article, we will discuss these three viewing options, and what ones are most appropriate for your household. Sky television is a popular option when setting up television systems. This involves a Sky TV technician visiting your home, and setting up a Sky satellite dish and decoder in your home. If you want to watch Sky in more than one room, you can choose to have Sky multi room, which allows you to watch different channels in different rooms. There are monthly costs involved with this, and if it is too costly for you, there are alternatives. You can get Sky distributed to every room of the home, so that Sky is watchable in multiple rooms. Infrared systems can also be set up so that the channel can be changed in the rooms that Sky is distributed to. The second option is satellite Freeview. This involves an audio and visual technician installing a Freeview satellite dish and decoder onto your property. The best part is that satellite Freeview is available for all types of television models, and will give you nineteen different channels. Just like Sky TV, you can get Freeview distributed to every room of the home, and an infrared system set up to allow channel changing. The final option is terrestrial Freeview. This option is for people that own televisions with built in Freeview. It requires a UHF aerial to be installed, so that you are able to watch high definition channels. HD televisions provide a much higher resolution than average television, and are the way to go if you are looking for the most crystal clear picture. If you need help deciding what option is most ideal for your household, consult your local aerial and satellite technician. They can visit you onsite, access your property and discuss your digital television options. |
